Research Scientist

Position Description
Physical scientist to support the growing needs of NOAA's next generation geostationary and polar orbiting programs, as well as international collaboration initiatives. Will work with leading NOAA scientists to develop the methodology, algorithm theoretical basis, and systems for accurate satellite instrument calibration to meet the challenging requirements of global climate change and numeric weather prediction.

Requirements
Formal training and experience in optical remote sensing and strong satellite data processing and analysis skills. Communication skills, including writing and presentations, a major plus. US citizen or permanent residency required.

Education
MS degree or higher in Physical Science with a strong background in physics and mathematics, or similar degree required.
