Conservation Internship: Ducks Unlimited

Conservation Internship Description: Ducks Unlimited, the international leader in wetland conservation, seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as a 12-month wetland conservation intern in our Mid-Atlantic Field Office (Annapolis, MD). This intern will work closely with biologists and engineers responsible for habitat restoration in the 6 Mid-Atlantic States, as well as assist in outreach, landowner education, research opportunities, and partnership development.

Duties/Responsibilities may include:

  • Extensive wetland monitoring and surveying with DU staff
  • Fieldwork in seasonally extreme weather conditions
  • Data entry and analysis
  • Grant writing and reporting
  • Attending meetings, forums, and other outreach opportunities

Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a wildlife or wetland related field is required, Masters Degree preferred. Competence in field botany, prior field experience in waterfowl or wetland biology, and an understanding of wetland ecology are absolutely essential. Successful applicants will be highly motivated; have strong oral and written communications skills; and will have the ability to work both independently and as a team member.

Salary: This is a 12-month position with a stipend of $1,300 per month.
