Lab Technician

I will have an opening in my research program for a technician beginning in May or June 2008. I am looking for someone with a MS degree (or BS degree with experience) in Chemistry, Marine Science, Environmental Science or related fields. The position involves organic geochemical analyses of samples from a variety of projects focused on understanding the sources and composition of organic carbon in coastal and estuarine environments including: studies of anthropogenic impacts on the carbon cycle in coastal environments, biodiversity and its influence on sediment organic matter composition, fate of benthic microalgal carbon and nitrogen, lability of effluent organic nitrogen, and biodiesel production from microalgae. The position is primarily lab-based but some participation in field work is necessary. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Canuel, ecanuel@vims.edu.
