PhD Student Wanted

The Aquatic Ecosystems Area of the Institute for Food and Agricultural Research and Technology (IRTA) invites applications from suitably-qualified candidates for Faculty Studentships to register for a full time PhD research degree.

Applicants should possess a good undergraduate honours degree in Geography or Biology, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Engineer or similar, finished from 2002.

Thesis project will be focused on sediment transport in the lower Ebro River. The main aim is construct the sediment budget (suspended sediment and bedload) of the lowermost part of the Ebro river, as well as, analyse the sediment transport dynamics and processes (variability, sediment motion, changes in bedload textures, magnitude and frequency of the transport rates, etc.).

The Scholarship duration is four years. Work location is in the IRTA - Aquatic Ecosystems Unit, in Sant Carles de la Rąpita (Tarragona, Spain). The endowment is 1100 € per month. The PhD supervision and coordination will be carried out by Dr. Albert Rovira, Researcher of the Aquatic Ecosystems Unit.
